19th-early 20th century black and white checker board. Found in Pa., this board has a untouched surface. It is is on a thin board with two cleats underneath. There are a couple of small holes along the edges without the cleats that appear to have been there when the board was made. See enlargements. Measures 12 by 11 3/4 inches.

Early 1900's Necco Boston Baked Beans Candy country store jar from a Portland, Maine store closed in the mid-1900's. Good original label. Nicely shaped jar.

19th century dasher butter churn in original red paint with wooden looped bands. Churn and top are both original. Pole also original with replaced masher. Total height with pole is 43 inches. Base is 27 inches high, 12 inches wide at the top, 14 inches at the bottom.

Mid 19th century miniature blanket chest in light green over blue paint. Square nail construction. Wonderful shaped sides/feet. Back right foot has been professionally repaired (see enlargements). Chest measures 14 1/4 inches wide, 9 1/4 inches high and 7 5/8 inches deep. This chest was in the collection of a New York State dealer for many years. He recently retired.

19th century painted document box found in Massachusetts. Color is dark green with a faint black line border on the front, sides of the box. Border was on top but only barely visable. Box measures 12 inches wide, 6 1/2 inches deep and 4 5/8 inches high. Hand cut nailed construction. Old wall paper interior. Brass plate in front was likely added. Not sure of its purpose since the box never had a lock.

Wonderfully shaped early 1900's footstool in original finish. Legs are mortised through top. Measures 13 1/2 inches by 6 1/2 inches by 6 1/2 inches tall.

This old drum in nice old paint with incised decoration came out of Maine. I don't know much about it other than I liked the color, surface, wear on the rope, brass grommets and old skins. Great decorative piece. Knot hole reglued on one side and lost knot area on the other side (see additional photos). Measures 16 1/2 inches high and about 11 inches wide.

Nantucket lightship basket purse with whale decoration. The Nantucket lightship purse was introduced by Jose Reyes in 1948, adding a cover to the Nantucket basket. This purse, while not signed, judging from the patina and interior lining dates to the introductory period circa 1950. Excellent condition.

18th-early 19th century leather and metal tinder pouch. Soldiers would carry this in their pocket with tinder inside and use an iron striker against the metal to create a spark to light a fire. Measures just 3 inches by 2 1/4 inches. Excellent condition with leather and metal all in good condition and even the catch is still there. See American Country Furnishings, George Neuman, page168 for similar example.

Early 1900's small indian basket in excellent condition. Out of a local collection this basket measures about 4 3/4 inches across and 1 3/4 inches high. There is a small stain inside and on the bottom (see additional photos).

19th century horse pull toy. Small size, just 8 1/4 inches long and 9 1/2 inches high. Good condition. Original except for tail which is an old replacement and one foot holder. Great folky piece for display.

Circa 1920's-30's quality Persian Sarouk rug out of a Argyle, NY home. This rug measures 9 feet 4 inches long by 6 feet 2 inches wide. Pretty rug. Like many rugs of this period the color was enhanced when it arrived here in America. Very good condition with no wear areas other than very minor fringe wear at one end. By my count there are 169 knots per square inch.

19th century dough box found in New Hampshire. Never painted, this box is all square nailed and has nice patina. Sides have cut out handles and the lid has an applied handle. There is a small piece of wood missing where the top of the side meets the end in one corner (see addtional photos). Measures 34 inches long, 17 1/2 inches wide and 13 inches high (handles included).

11 7/8 inch tall light yellow green color free blown cylinder form bottle with a sheared finished top and crudely applied ring collar. A nice kick up base with open pontil. This bottle is in very good condition with a lot of small bubbles. As seenin the photo bottle tilts to the side. A nice early wine bottle.
